One Smart Move is to Own an Organic Farm
There is a section in many bazaars for organic products. Consumers need to understand this term and also know the actions and thoughts that have been put in those organic products. We can start by defining organic farming. Prior to the introduction of chemical pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, most farms were organic. There was an abrupt need to produce more food. Mother nature had to be interfered with. This was done by adding chemicals to the farms. Use of chemicals is not encouraged in organic farms. Organic Farms further do not accept genetically modified organisms and seeds. In an organic farm, this is where the soil is treated holistically.
There is a general assumption of farming as a living entity. The core aim is to have the organic farming practices which sustain and are harmonious in mixing the human race and the environment. There are plentiful benefits of organic farming. There are societies and a complete world of living organisms above the soil and in the underground. In an organic farm, this has to be protected so that the soil does not degrade. Nitrogen will not help plants if it is not put in the soil even if it is the highest in the air percentage. If the soil does not have enough nitrogen food production will be low.
Today, food business is big. Sadly, if corporations that are multi-billion sell their ware that is genetically modified, they encourage monocultures and homogeneity on a wide scale. This is according to experts can result in crops being vulnerable to climate change, pests, and disease. Nature has one fitness policy which is to adapt and survive. Another negative effect coming from selling these products that are genetically modified will promote the upcoming of new superbugs and superweeds.
The result of this can be distressing. Human being are adversely affected by the chemicals used in farming. They are either affected by allergies or cancers. This negative effects of chemicals are not only for some crops or some given period of some crops. The poison lasts for a longer time. They also affect ground water. Any other water bodies are pointed from the water which runs from these crops. There is no way to contain or limit chemical usage. Packaging of organic products should be a lifestyle. Care is emphasized on handling and processing methods to make sure the final products do not lose their organic integrity.
Organic products do not need chemicals for longer shelf-life. There has been a warning on the health problems that pesticides have on especially children. Organic farms are now the way to go even if the movement started slowly in the 1960s now it is coming in droves.
